Global Bug Jam (aka. Calling all upstreams!)
As Jono announced, we're running a Global Bug Jam the weekend of 8-10 August.
We recently had a Hug Day where the Amarok Wolf Brigade decided to run their own concurrent bug day. Since this idea is pretty awesome we're reaching out to interested upstream projects to participate in the Global Bug Jam.
If you're and upstream project and interested in running your own Bug Jam along with us, then please add your project and information to the bottom of this page. Just follow Amarok's lead. :)
As Local Teams sign up for the Bug Jam they can look at the list of upstreams that are also jamming that weekend and send people interested to your project. So why should an upstream project participate in the Global Bug Jam?
- Coordinate with Ubuntu Bug Squad members to get good, high quality bug reports forwarded to you.
- Mentor volunteers to clean out invalid, duplicate, and wontfix bugs.
- Find good low-hanging-fruit, bitesize, or bugs with patches.
- Build a team of interested volunteers that can continue to triage bugs past the Bug Jam.
- And of course ... help new volunteers get involved in your project!
Of course, we're handling all the logistics of the weekend, so even if you're a small project with a relatively small amount of bugs you can still take advantage of the Jam by participating and working with people interested in helping you improve your software. Hope to see you there!
