Look Kids, Big Ben!
So, I took a week off of work to move across town to Royal Oak, MI. We moved on Wednesday and to my surprise the new place did not have any electricity(!)
Our local power company cannot send a guy out until NEXT Wednesday (Yay monopolies!). No Internet either of course. We've been "camping" in our new place with no power (Thank God that the hot water heater is gas powered).
I'm standing up in a wedding tomorrow, then leaving right after to go to GUADEC. My clothes are in boxes someplace in the basement along with my suitcase and my computer desk, which is in a thousand pieces. In many ways, roughing it can be fun, everything is quiet, you can read a good book, etc. etc. It would have just been nice to have these moments at my convenience, instead of the busiest week of the month right before 2 weeks of travel.
If you see me at GUADEC with unmatching socks, women's clothes, or a "I went to Turkey and all I got was this lousy tshirt" then that is why.
Though I made sure I didn't miss the move to identi.ca, heh.
